TESTIMONIAL 1
Our family has greatly benefitted from my 3.5 year old's time at EBNS. The best thing about EBNS is the teacher, Tom!
Tom Moore is just a gem. His kindness and thoughtfulness spills over and is brought back home each week. His gentleness with the children serves as a role model for everyone. We love the Waldorf-inspired nature-based themes, crafts and stories. I was astonished when my 3.5 year old recently recited a complete fingerplay poem about a squirrel — complete with hand movements!
In other nursery schools do children compost, study the moon phases, and learn the benefits of public transportation first hand!? EBNS provides an alternative option for families who mindfully think outside the box and want the same for their children.
I have learned so much from the days I have assisted in the classroom. At EBNS, I know I am offering my child an excellent early childhood education with opportunities to explore, play and be acknowledged and affirmed as a real person.

TESTIMONIAL 2
My husband and I enrolled our three-year-old this year and are thrilled with the role EBNS has come to play in our lives. The school's mission is to foster social skills through creative play and deep engagement with the natural world, and this is exactly what happens each day. Our little boy is learning about the moon and squirrels; he's learning how to express his emotions and desires clearly and safely; he's learning how to play with other children, how to explore his own self, how to work with a group, and how to assert his individuality.
Tom, the teacher, is a special, patient, talented man who is attentive to alternative lifestyles and who celebrates simple, meaningful connections between the children. Field trips involve activities like taking the city bus to a park to explore signs of spring or walking to a local fire house to talk to rescue workers. In-school activities include playing musical instruments, singing simple songs in other languages, learning how to walk in a line to the bathroom, making homemade apple cider, playing in a giant sandbox, feeding fish and earthworms, and planting flower seeds. Our little boy is endlessly engaged and exploring himself and his world.
Also, the school is cooperatively run, which not only means it's affordable, but also that parents are deeply involved in the curriculum and general school functioning. This is especially important to us in that our three-year-old, like many three-year-olds, often seems to need extra attention. At EBNS, we know he gets this attention. Indeed, in many ways EBNS has become a family to all three of us, a safe and nurturing environment in which all three of us are growing.
